Insulated Doghouse with Deck Woodworking Plan
Protect your pet from the extremes of summer and winter weather in this insulated dog house with attached deck. The outer entrance is actually a passage to the inner compartment's doorway. This forms a vestibule that keeps wind and rain from entering the sleeping area. Side walls are designed for rigid insulation and the roof lifts off for easy cleaning. Treated lumber is recommended for the base and the 2-foot by 4-foot deck. It takes just one bundle of shingles to cover the roof. Dimensions of the dog house are 4 feet wide by 3 feet deep. The plan also includes directions for making a heated, weatherproof feeding station that will keep food dry and prevent drinking water from freezing. |

Barn Style Doghouse Woodworking Plan
Give your pet shelter from the dog days of summer by building him or her this barn style dog house. The walls, floor and roof parts cut easily from two sheets of 1/2-inch plywood. Pressure treated 2-by-4's are used for the base to keep the house away from dampness. Instructions are given on the plan for installing insulation to keep the interior comfortable. Applying the roof shingles is easy and the kids can join in on the painting. The average do-it-yourselfer should be able to complete the dog house in one or two days. Inside dimensions are 28 inches wide, 43 inches deep. The door opening is 12-1/2 inches wide, 19 inches high. |  larger image |
Doghouse Plan $7.00 I am selling complete plans in pdf format for the construction of a doghouse. The plans include complete construction drawings with details and elevations. There is a material list using commonly available wood framing materials. The materials can be purchased at any lumber yard or home improvement center. This doghouse is intended for a 40 lb dog although I can provide plans for any size of dog. This particular doghouse is 4 feet wide, 5 feet long and approximately 3 feet high. The doghouse meets applicable construction codes but you should check with your local building department at city hall to see if there are any special regulations relavant to these structures. Building codes and by-laws do vary slightly from one municipality to the other. If you email me I will answer whatever questions you may have. |
